Watch Jim's video to understand more about his virtual exhibit and fundraiser for raising awareness about the plight of incarcerated children.

In the 21st century, in America, a federal policy was enacted to deter immigrants seeking asylum from violence, rape and murder, this inhumane policy separated children from their parents. Many of these children are immigrants, in fact the greater percentage are of Indigenous cultural roots whose ancestors have lived in the Americas for thousands of years. The elected officials (appointed by Pres. Trump) setting these inhumane laws are descendants of immigrants themselves, who after taking these lands from the same Indigenous peoples have now excluded them.

I, Jim Covarrubias, am an artist and as a Native-American I am related culturally to these persecuted immigrants. The empathy and love I have for the plight of our fellow human beings has inspired me to develop an exhibit of art available for viewing online. I am also raising money to achieve my goal, to produce a video depicting the plight of these caged and abused children through art, poetry and contemporary Latino music. Please consider making a donation. Your donation will help record a song by the Phoenix quintet Las Chollas Peligrosas and record voices in defense of these children who are without a voice, please join us to shed light on their deplorable conditions. Our coordinating entity is Ariztlan, Inc. a 501 c-3 who for the past 3 decades has documented, presented and developed artwork from the southwest with emphasis on artwork produced by Native-American, Latino, Military Veterans and contemporary artists.
