Jim Covarrubias will awarded the prestigious Professor Alberto "Tito" Rios Outstanding Literary /Arts Award from the Pete C. Garcia Victoria Foundation at the 9th Annual Arizona Higher Education Awards breakfast at the Arizona Biltmore - Grand Ballroom on Sept. 5th, 2019.

Jim Covarrubias: Adorning hallways of the Senate

If you’ve ever wandered beyond the first floor of the Arizona Senate, you’ve likely seen the work of Jim Covarrubias, a Phoenix-based artist whose paintings have adorned the hallways of the second and third floors for more than a year. Covarrubias, whose downtown Phoenix studio is full to the brim of paintings, has a wide variety to choose from, and has curated and adjusted the work on display in the Senate over that time. He has plans to feature other artists as well, with a gallery planned for the walls outside Senate President Andy Biggs’ office, to be displayed as early as in May.

Official Launch! Fund & Support Kokopelli The Legend: A Native American Opera

Created by the accomplished artist and story-teller, Jim Covarrubias, Kokopelli The Legend is an opera about the history of one of the most iconic deities in Native American culture.

The premier will be held on June 3rd, 2016 at the beautiful Tempe Center for the Arts.
